Murphysboro Apple Festival
The 67th annual Murphysboro Apple Festival takes place September 12 through 15, 2018, centered on downtown Murphysboro, Illinois.
The fest is said to be the oldest and largest alcohol-free festival in southern Illinois.
An apple pie and apple butter contest takes place September 13 on the top floor of the Murphysboro Event Center, 1329 Walnut Street. There’s an apple pie eating contest at 6 p.m. September 13. The annual parade steps off at 11 a.m. September 15, beginning at 20th Street, continuing east on Walnut Street until Seventh Street.
