From pools to patios, you’d be hard pressed to find an experience that isn’t improved simply by putting it on a rooftop. No longer is the roof reserved for swanky cocktail bars. Independent breweries have upped their patio game by taking it up — upstairs.

Behold, a non-exhaustive list of great brewery rooftops. Why should the cocktail crowd have all the fun?

Marble Brewery | Albuquerque, New Mexico
Marble Brewery recently underwent a multi-million dollar expansion that included the installation of its epic rooftop patio. It overlooks downtown Albuquerque, and the lively brewery below. The relaxing space is available daily for enjoying beer and private events.

Highland Brewing | Asheville, North Carolina
Ascend to rooftop-brewery bliss amid the Great Smoky Mountains at Asheville’s Highland Brewing. This rooftop is a newer addition to this iconic brewery setting. There is a robust tasting room below and the meadow and concert amphitheater around the corner.

Rhinegeist | Cincinnati, Ohio
Drink in the view of the City of Seven Hills at Rhinegeist (pictured) in the historic Over-the-Rhine Brewery District in Cincinnati. This rustic outdoor space is the Crown Jewel of the brewery’s 25,000 square foot production facility in the old Moerlein bottling plant. Heads up — the patio is always 21 and older.

Bonaventure Brewing | Los Angeles,California
Located in what’s arguably the country’s rooftop patio town is a little hidden gem that just happens to be the oldest brewing company in the city. The nano brewhouse at Bonaventure Brewing is nestled on the fourth floor pool deck level of the historic Westin Bonaventure Hotel.

Odell Brewing | Denver, Colorado
The Fort Collins-based Odell Brewing‘s new Denver output features a modest rooftop patio with a spanning view of the Rocky Mountains and the surrounding River North neighborhood.

Good City Brewing | Milwaukee, Wisconsin
After one year in business, Good City Brewing has lived up to its name and sought the good in an expansion that included a 2,000 square-foot patio. It’s an eye-catching complement to the brewery’s historic building, a former Oldsmobile sale and service center.

Sky High Brewing | Corvallis, Oregon
This three-story brewpub in Corvallis, Oregon, sports yard games on its rooftop patio downtown. It is just steps from the Willamette River that runs through town. Don’t worry — there’s plenty of seating inside Sky High Brewing for the rainy season.

Bagby Beer Company | Oceanside, California
The Pacific Ocean is a prime backdrop for beer drinking. Bagby Beer Company‘s scenic patio in Oceanside is open to the public and available for private events.

Phantom Canyon Brewing | Colorado Springs, Colorado
You can see Pikes Peak from the rooftop patio at the legendary Phantom Canyon Brewing in downtown Colorado Springs. You can also do yoga on this patio on Tuesdays.

Trophy Brewing | Raleigh, North Carolina
The third location of Trophy Brewing, Tap + Table, offers an upscale downtown experience to pair with its creative beers — with an inspired Southern-style menu to boot.
