Octopus Festival in Spain
Fans of the soft-bodied, eight-armed mollusc are conversing on Spain’s province of Ourense next month for the Octopus Festival. It’s set for August 12, 2018, in O Carballiño.
Between 25,000 and 30,000 kilos of octopus are served during the festivities, much of which is cooked in huge copper pots. Road Trips Foodies will also find other traditional regional dishes such as Cea bread (one of two Spanish breads that carry a Protected Geographical Indication by the European Union), and pies, all accompanied by Ribeiro wine.
