Wisconsin’s World Championship Cheese Contest
If you’re on your way to Wisconsin, Road Trips Foodies, you’re in luck. The World Championship Cheese Contest takes place today (March 6, 2018) through Thursday (March 8, 2018) at the Monona Terrace Convention Center, Madison, Wisconsin.
Contest hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, and 9 a.m. ti 4 p.m. tomorrow (March 7, 2018). The championship is announced between 6:30 and 9 p.m. Thursday.
That evening reception features a tasting of more than 50 contest stand-outs from all over the world, local specialty foods, and craft beer samples. Attendees also have the opportunity to learn the intricacies of cheese evaluation from contest judges, and will be present as the winner of the 2018 World Championship Cheese Contest is announced for the first time.
Cheese Champion tickets cost $25 per person, with a limit of 500 attendees. If Thursday evening hasn’t sold out, you can get tickets online.
The contest is sponsored by the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association.
