The Midwest is a strange place to learn about chocolate, but at Conner Prairie, 13400 Allisonville Road, Fishers, Indiana, Road Trips Foodies can immerse themselves in American Heritage Chocolate Making.

There are two sessions: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. February 9, 2018, and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. February 14, 2018. For this program, participants must be 18 or older. Fee is $55 for non-members.

You’ll learn about the history of chocolate and take part in its preparation from bean to cup. Grind on a traditional metate, grate brick chocolate and spices. Warm yourself by the fire as you help to prepare delicacies such as chocolate puffs and cracknels.
