Seafaring Tradition of Stock Island, Florida
The seafaring tradition, culinary riches and creative enterprises of Stock Island will be on display at the “I Love Stock Island Festival“. It takes place in the Florida Keys community adjacent to Key West December 8 through 10, 2017.
The hub of the Florida Keys commercial shrimping industry hosts the family-friendly festival that blends culinary events, live music, history, art studio tours, a bicycle excursion, a lighted boat parade and other experiences that showcase the island and its eclectic working waterfront.
Scheduled highlights include a “Taste of Stock Island,” a guided exploration of local cuisine beginning at 4 p.m. December 8, 2017. Traveling via trolley, guests are to stop at selected Stock Island restaurants to savor small plates and beverage pairings at each location.
Plans for December 9, 2017, call for a traditional shrimp boil at the Oceans Edge Key West Resort Hotel & Marina, 5950 Peninsular Avenue, Stock Island.
The festival’s other enticements of interest to Road Trips Foodies include food truck feasts and special holiday brunches at Stock Island restaurants.
