Wine & Walk by the Sea
Join in a stroll among the vineyards and the olive groves of Novigrad, Croatia, Road Trips Foodies. This autumn “Wine & Walk Fest” hosted by Cittanova highights Istrian products, which can be sampled along the eight kilometers of wine and food stops.
Your Road Trips Foodie couldn’t find general information on the new event, but you can join a tour that takes all the hassle out of going.
Departure is scheduled in the morning of September 23, 2017. After registration, participants will receive a tasting glass and coupons, the map of the route, and instructions. The walk begins along the old walls of Cittanova until the port of Porporela, located in the heart of the city’s historic center.
Al Mandracchio, near a local wine cellar with a tradition of many decades, is the first wine and food stopping point. The walk continues in and out of the coastal paths, and finally enters the hinterland of Cittanova as it continues between vineyards, olive groves, woods, and natural landscapes. Along the way, other wine and food points will offer boiled eggs (why not?) and wine.
The park of the Vesuvius of Cittanova signs the end of the marathon in the late afternoon, when participants and visitors can enjoy free tastings of local agricultural products, souvenirs, and music.
