Seafood Festival in O Grove, Spain
First held in 1963, the annual “Festa do Marisco” (seafood festival) is a cultural and gastronomic event that celebrates the twin economic pillars of O Grove, a coastal town in Spain’s Galicia: fishing and tourism.
This year’s fest is October 5 through 15, 2017.
During the celebrations, fish and shellfish go on sale at special prices, prepared and served by town locals (earning O Grove its nickname of “seafood paradise”).
There is also music, traditional dance, competitions and sporting events, plus seminars and exhibitions.
