Arts & Gastronomy in San Miguel de Allende
Something new for Road Trips foodies headed to Mexico this summer. “The Market of Arts & Gastronomy” is being launched July 13 through 16, 2017, to bring together chefs, hotels, restaurants, food and spirits companies, wineries, artists, major media and others for what is intended as an annual event.
Dozens of events and activities are planned over the four days of the initial festival, starting with a kickoff dinner in Moxi at Hotel Matilda with Mexican chef Enrique Olvera.
Among the events and activities on the festival agenda are luncheons and dinners at restaurants and other locations in San Muguel, a market of “gastronomy, beverages and art” in the Parque Juárez, talks and demonstrations by chefs and artists, and a “mixology room” for premium and artisanal spirits and liquors, and special tasting events.
“Edible Expositions” will present innovative art works that will be eaten by festival goers.
An all-inclusive ticket will be available, or tickets may be purchased for individual events (with costs ranging from about $50-$150). Plans for the event seem to be in the formation stage. The website, for example, is all in Spanish — the “English” button is inoperable at the moment.
