Unspunnen in Interlaken
Swiss wrestlers, Alpine herdsmen and members of traditional costume groups convene in Interlaken, Switzerland, this summer for a folklore event first held in 1805. This year’s dates are August 26 through September 3, 2017.
But, what draws Road Trips Foodies to the festival, Unspunnen 2017, is the banquet set for August 28, 2017, in the 100-year-old Kursaal Interlaken.
An evening with entertainment and Swiss food and drink is promised as two cooking teams showcase Swiss cuisine. The price of 125 Swiss Francs includes aperitifs and three-course evening meal prepared by the country women from Swiss Tavolata and the Swiss National Junior Cooking Team, all served by the Thun Hotel College.
Note: the organizers need to know if you’re coming, because the event will only take place if a “sufficient” number of banquet tickets are sold by March 25, 2017.
