Maple Syrup Fest in Southern Indiana
It’s maple syrup season again. One place to see the “magic” in action is the 26th annual Maple Syrup Festival at LM Sugarbush, 321 North Garrison Hollow Road, Salem, Indiana — a 140-acre family farm established in 1981.
The fest is held over two weekends: March 4 and 5 plus March 11 and 12, 2017.
There’ll be maple syrup (of course) not to mention pancakes and waffles, BBQ, music, tours of the farm, craft and food vendors as well as many activities and games.
Your Road Trips Foodie likes to watch the syrup-making process. Two are demonstrated — the Native American and pioneer procedures. (Yes, it takes a lot of boiling to get maple sap condensed into maple syrup.)
