“Larder of London” Holds Food & Drink Festival
A Festival of Food & Drink takes place March 25, 2017, through April 2, 2017, in The Chilterns in South East England.
Once known as the ‘larder of London’, the region offers historic market towns, rural villages, pubs, farmland, chalk-fed streams and ancient woods.
The new Chilterns Festival will give visitors the chance to sample a range of local fare. The “Cheese Walk” is already sold out, but there are all sorts of other special events: vineyard, brewery, distillery, and winery tours; milling demonstrations at Redbournbury Mill; visits to local purveyors of everything from jams and jellies to meat; guided walking tours — and even a cream tea on a steam railroad ride.
Your Road Trips Foodie would love to join the “Fire & Feast” excursion on April 1, 2017: participants will be baking breads, roasting meat, and cooking fish over a campfire in the Chilterns woodland. Maybe next spring….
