Well, why not, Road Trips Foodies! If New York City can drop a ball at Times Square, why wouldn’t Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, celebrate the New Year dropping a giant Peeps chick?
At Peepsfest (sponsored, of course, by Just Born Quality Confections headquartered in — no surprise — Bethlehem), there are two days of family fun at SteelStacks (10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. tomorrow).
But tomorrow is the big day at the eighth annual Peepsfest. At 5:15 p.m. December 31, 2016, a four-foot, nine-inch-tall Peeps chick weighing 200 pounds will descend to commemorate the beginning of a new year.
