Children and French Pastries

illinois_chicago_vanilleFrench pastries aren’t just for grown-ups. To entice the next generation of fans, Vanille Chicago will host a free kid’s book club and concerts this fall.

Road Trips Foodies traveling with kids should take note: Vanille Patisserie, known for macarons and other handmade confectionaries, will offer children the chance to gather together to hear stories, decorate cookies, and sing and dance — in each of their three Chicago, Illinois, locations: 2108 North Clark Street (Lincoln Park), 131 North Clinton Street (Chicago French Market), and 3243 North Broadway (Lakeview).

The Children’s Book Club at each Vanille location is open to children and their family members, in cooperation with Unabridged Bookstore. Meetings are at 3:30 p.m. November 2 and December 7 in the Lincoln Park store; at noon October 15, November 19 and December 17 in the Chicago French Market, and at 3:30 p.m. October 26, November 23 and December 28 in Lakeview.

An Interactive Kids Concert with Bubbles Academy takes place at 3:30 p.m. October 19, November 16 and December 21 in Lincoln Park, and at 3:30 p.m. today, November 9 and December 14 in Lakeview.

Vanille specializes in a number of French-inspired artisanal desserts and pastries including entremets and tarts, handmade chocolates and candies, croissants and classic French-style macarons.
