Wine at Mount Vernon
History and wine intersect at a fall festival taking place October 2, 3 and 4, 2015, at George Washington’s Mount Vernon, 3200 Mount Vernon Memorial Highway, Mount Vernon, Virginia.
Between 6 and 9 p.m. each evening, visitors will learn about the successes and failures of our Founding Father’s wine endeavors, enjoy live blues music, and meet “George and Martha Washington” on the Mansion’s piazza. Wines from 17 local vineyards will be served.
There’s an evening tour of the Washingtons’ home, including the basement where he stored his wine.
VIP tables are $1,200 and include admission for 12 people, 3 bottles of Mount Vernon house wine, a dessert platter from Alexandria Pastry Shop, a fruit and cheese tray from the Mount Vernon Inn Restaurant, and private waiter service.
