Peach Fest in Connecticut
Wandering the Northeast this weekend, Road Trips Foodies? There’s a Peach Fest in Connecticut tomorrow (August 15, 2015).
The fruit will be celebrated at Lyman Orchards, 32 Reeds Gap Road, Middlefield, Connecticut. It all starts at 8 a.m. with pick-your-own peaches, nectarines and blueberries.
There’ll be peach treats on the deck from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., plus all sorts of entertainment and games all day. The pie eating contest starts at 3:30 p.m.
Established in 1741 and now in its ninth generation, Lyman Orchards is recognized as the twelfth oldest family owned business still in operation. With 1,100 acres in the hills of Central Connecticut, they grow more than 100 varieties of fruit, including apples, peaches, pears, nectarines, strawberries, pumpkins and blueberries.
