Strawberry Festival on the Circle
Entertainment will accompany the strawberry shortcake during Thursday’s 50th anniversary Strawberry Festival (July 11, 2015), sponsored by Christ Church Cathedral Women.
Early birds know to arrive at Christ Church Episcopal Cathedral, 125 Monument Circle, Indianapolis, Indiana, at 8:30 a.m. for carryout orders from the Parish Hall.
Serving under the tents begins at 9 a.m. and is scheduled to end at 7 p.m. — but once everything’s sold, it’s over and they’re estimating six tons of strawberries and 18,000 homemade shortcakes. Entertainment will begin at 10 a.m.
Be sure to order the “Works”: shortcake, strawberries, ice cream and whipped topping ($7). Customized orders are $2 for each component. Cash only, so be prepared.
More than 95 percent of the Strawberry Festival proceeds goes directly to local, national and international not-for-profit outreach groups
