Smoked Pig Patty
It wouldn’t be summer without state fairs, and it wouldn’t be the Indiana State Fair without a “signature food”.
This year, the Smoked Pig Patty (pictured) from the Indiana Pork Association was selected from among six concessionaires who competed in the “Field to Farm” themed competition.
The Indiana Pork Association put a smoked twist to this Hoosier classic: fully-smoked Indiana-grown quarter pound ground pork patty topped with Shoup’s Country Foods (based in Frankfort, Indiana) BBQ sauce and Scheckler’s Indiana-grown dill pickles chips (from St. Joe, Indiana). The association will have three tents located around the Fairgrounds for visitors to come and try this year’s winning food from August 7 through 23, 2015.
The Indiana State Fair takes place at (where else?) the state fairgrounds, 1201 East 38th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana.
