The 11th annual Farm & Barn Fest takes place August 15, 2015, at Yunker Farm, 10824 LaPorte Road, Mokena, Illinois.
It celebrates the significance of farming in Illinois’ history. Road Trips Foodies can experience a bit of farm life through demonstrations of sheep shearing, blacksmithing, woodworking and more between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The crowd-pleasing pie-eating contest starts at 2:30 p.m. on the main stage at the farm (you do have to enter by August 13, however). In the event of a tie, the judges will determine a first place winner based on who ends up wearing the most pie and the biggest smile.
