Amateur Rib Cook Off
The seventh annual Amateur Rib Cook Off takes place from 1 to 3 p.m. August 1, 2015, in the Breidert Green parking lot at Kansas and Oak streets in downtown Frankfort, Illinois.
Visitors can taste a variety of ribs cooked on site by amateur contestants — no professional chefs or businesses are allowed to compete. Each team cooks 15 slabs of baby back ribs on site for the judging and the sampling.
