National Festival of Breads
If you’ll be anywhere near Manhattan, Kansas, tomorrow, Road Trips Foodies, you’ll want to swing by the National Festival of Breads, sponsored by Kansas Wheat.
At heart a bread baking contest, the fest opens to the public at 8 a.m. June 13, 2015, in the Hilton Garden Inn, Manhattan, Kansas. (There are recipes online.)
Eight adult finalists and one youth champion have been named for the biennial National Festival of Breads, the nation’s only national amateur bread-baking competition. They are from all over the United States:

Felice Bogus- Raleigh, North Carolina, and Mary Hawkes- Prescott, Arizona
Rolls:
Merry Graham- Newhall, California, and Amy Meiers- Santa Rosa, California
Whole Grains:
Ronna Farley- Rockville, Maryland, and Patrice Hurd- Bemidji, Minnesota
Time Saving and Simple:
Jane Fry- Elk Falls, Kansas, and Lisa Keys- Kennett Square, Pennsylvania
