Sample everything from rhubarb pie to rhubarb wine at the 24th annual Rhubarb Festival in downtown’s Central Park, Aledo, Illinois. It’s set for June 5 and 6, 2015.
If you’re there June 5, Road Trips Foodies, you can pick up some of the 12,000 rhubarb seeds to be given away. The rhubarb recipe contest is June 6.
There’s a Tasting Tent, bake sale, trolley tours of the town, flea market, craft show, live music — the whole small town festival lineup (including of course kids’ activities.
Admission is free. The Rhubarb Festival begins at 10 a.m. each day. However, if you want to be guaranteed an opportunity to purchase one of the 3,000 rhubarb pies available each day, you should get there before noon.
