Eat Breakfast at Night?

breakfastarianYour Road Trips Foodie doesn’t know who’s behind this clever stealth marketing campaign.

In any case, we’re exhorted to join the breakfastarians (“we believe in having breakfast anytime — especially for dinner”). Many roadside cafés offer breakfast any time of the day, after all.

Gotta admit the campaign is clever: “See the light. Eat breakfast at night”, “Breakfast: the other dinner” and “Make eggs, not eggplant”.

UPDATE:

Turns out it’s IHOP® Restaurants, famous for serving “Everything You Love About Breakfast” for almost 57 years, announced Tuesday (May 19, 2015) that it firmly supports breakfastarians — who represent a large percentage of the American population. According to the National Restaurant Association’s 2015 Restaurant Industry Forecast, 70 percent of Americans wish that restaurants would serve breakfast all day long. IHOP has been tapping into the philosophy behind the breakfastarian belief that breakfast can be enjoyed day or night since it opened the first restaurant in 1958.

Even a foodie’s gotta have fun, eh?
