Hearthside Suppers at Conner Prairie
Road Trips Foodies pitch in to prepare their Hearthside Supper at Conner Prairie, 13400 Allisonville Road, Fishers, Indiana. Then, of course, there’s time to savor the meal.
The suppers are offered at 6 p.m. January 11 through 14, 2018, and at 6 p.m. January 16 through March 11, 2018. Cost is $65 for adults and $60 for youth (10 and older — 10 is the youngest allowed). Reservations are required.
The Hearthside Suppers take place with costumed interpreters in the historic 1823 William Conner House. Guests arrive just in time for a light appetizer then lend a hand with the final preparations of the meal — churning butter, grinding coffee, or preparing the vegetables — all the while learning about 19th-century food and cooking techniques.
Then, after instruction in proper etiquette, guests settle in to enjoy supper by candlelight, followed by 19th-century parlor games and dessert.
