World Whisky Day
Attention: Road Trips Foodies. Did you know that there’s a World Whisky Day?
Yes: whisky. That distilled spirit known as whiskey in Ireland and the United States, and as whisky in the rest of the world.
According to Wikipedia, it is a distilled alcoholic beverage made from fermented grain mash. Various grains (which may be malted) are used for different varieties, including barley, corn (maize), rye, and wheat. Whisky is typically aged in wooden casks, generally made of charred white oak.
You can celebrate alone, with friends or at one of the special events planned across the globe on May 16, 2015.
