Butter & Egg Day
Eggs and dairy products fueled an economic boom in Petaluma, California, in the early 1900s. That agricultural heritage is celebrated during Butter & Egg Day, set for April 25, 2015, in downtown Petaluma.
The celebration, now in its 34th year, includes a parade and street fair. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m, with the parade stepping off at noon (the 100 units include more than 3,000 participants).
Activities before, during and after the parade include four blocks of exhibit space for arts and crafts exhibitors, food vendors offering a wide variety of festival foods, sponsor booths, community and non-profit booths and a large area to entertain youngsters with inflatables, rides and hands-on activities. (And, yes, it’s held rain or shine.)
The event is presented by the Petaluma Downtown Association.
