Indiana Wine Fair
The 13th annual Indiana Wine Fair will be April 25, 2015, at the Story Inn, 6404 South State Road 135, Nashville, Indiana. Hours are 12:30 to 7 p.m.
For more than a decade, Indiana’s vintners have descended upon the little town of Story, Indiana, on the last Saturday of April to dole out one-ounce pours of their Reislings, Malbecs and Cabernets.
Admission to the festival is limited to persons at least 21 years of age. The price is $30 at the gate if you intend to imbibe ($10 if you are a designated driver). The first 4,000 people under General Admission will receive a Story Inn keepsake wine glass.
If you’d rather not wander the country road leading to Story, there is free shuttle service from the Nashville Courthouse, 20 East Main Street, Nashville, Indiana. This shuttle starts at noon and runs every 15 minutes.
The “Bacchus Bus” offers round-trip shuttle service from the Orange Lot at the Indiana University Stadium, Bloomington, Indiana. The Bacchus Bus leaves Orange Lot at noon. The Bacchus Bus leaves Story Inn’s parking lot at 7 p.m. and returns to the Orange Lot about 8 p.m. Cost is $20 and tickets are available online.
The Wine Fair will go on, rain or shine. All of the tastings will occur under roof.
There will be plenty of food and great live music. Note, Road Trips Foodies: you may purchase bottles of wine directly from the wineries for consumption off-premises. Parking is free.
