Moravian Candle Tea
Road Trips Foodies lucky enough to be wandering near Wilmington, North Carolina, have a treat in store if they stop by Covenant Moravian Church between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. today.
Costumed hostesses at the church are providing a Candle Tea including those Moravian sweets we crave: sugar cake and cookies. Oh, yeah: there also will be Moravian stars (pictured), music, stories, craft demonstrations and a Moravian Putz (a retelling of the story of Christ’s birth using a miniature scene, narration and music — putz is from the German word “putzen” meaning to decorate).
It’s free and open to the public at 4126 South College Road, Wilmington, North Carolina.
