Spoke & Steele Opens in Indy
A new eatery opens in downtown Indy this week. Spoke & Steele, 123 South Illinois Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, officially debuts Thursday (December 4, 2014) in what used to be the Canterbury Hotel (and will open on the same day as the Le Méridien Indianapolis — the Canterbury’s newest incarnation).
The 160-seat AvroKO designed restaurant in a 1920 building, includes a dining room, bar, a private dining room and specialty drinking room.
Chef Tyson Peterson’s “American Fare” menus will focus on domestic meats and aquatic delights as well as locally sourced and sustainable produce.
At a corner of the bar, a chef will put together cheeses, pickled items and cured meats for a charcuterie experience (see photo). The beverage menu will feature a fresh approach to bespoke spirits, including Spoke & Steele’s house-made barrel aged cocktails straight from the cask. The restaurant will also introduce a custom cocktail club, allowing members to enjoy a rotating house made cocktail in their own personalized bottle. The custom-branded bottles will be refilled monthly with a seasonal libation.
Spoke & Steele will be open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
