The eighth annual Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival takes place in Des Moines, Iowa, January 31, 2015.
This time, in addition to the real thing, there’ll be pork bacon “alternatives” such as turkey bacon, lamb bacon and tofu bacon.
With plans to fill all four levels of Hy-Vee Hall and Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center, the one-day event will offer extensive bacon sampling, bacon-inspired wrestling (seriously), bacon lectures, bacon-inspired dishes, bacon competitions, an annual bacon queen, bacon awards, live entertainment and international bacon fellowship.
The event always sells out, Road Trips Foodies. Do note that tickets will go on sale at 12:13:14 p.m. December 13, 2014 (that’s 12/13/14, if you hadn’t noticed).
