Chili Cook-Off in Vincennes
Anywhere near west central Indiana, Road Trips Foodies? The 24th annual Knox County Chili Cook-Off is tomorrow: September 13, 2014.
It takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Patrick Henry Drive in the George Rogers Clark National Historic Site, 401 Sout 2nd Street, Vincennes, Indiana.
Local cooks will be preparing their best chili concoctions, which may contain any kind of meat, or combination of meats, cooked with chili peppers, various other spices and ingredients, including beans and/or pasta. Local competition chili must contain beans and/or pasta.
Yes, the cooks are preparing a pot for judging, but they’re definitely encouraged to prepare additional pots (of chili) for public tasting. As the instructions state, “If you have more available for sampling, more people taste it, and you can receive more votes for the Tasters’ Choice Award. Don’t risk running out while your competitors still have some.”
For more information on visiting the area, contact the Vincennes/Knox County Convention & Visitors Bureau.
