Pasta, Peppers and Italian Heritage
It’s a two-weekend Italian fest in West Virginia.
First up is the 26th annual Pasta Cook-off, set for August 23, 2014, at the Jackson Square Parking Facility in Clarksburg, West Virginia.
Great cooks from around the area compete to see who has the “best pasta in town”. Each dish is judged by the public and a panel of judges. There’s also a hot pepper eating contest divided into “fresh” and “canned” sections.
The West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival takes place the following weekend (Labor Day Weekend), August 29, 30 and 31, 2014. It includes (of course) a Meatball Eating Contest on Saturday featuring separate men’s and women’s divisions.
