Quaff N Brew Beer School

indiana_nashville_big-woods-brewingFor those Road Trips Foodies interested in learning as well as doing, well, the Quaff N Brew Beer School seems just the ticket.

Set your satnav for the Hoosier State’s Brown County and visit Big Woods Village, 60 Molly’s Lane, Nashville, Indiana.

Big Woods Brewing Company, founded by Tim O’Bryan, Ed Ryan and Jeff McCabe, is the homeplace for the craft brews. On a tour, “students” will learn about the ingredients, processes and equipment that combine to make beer… and of course, there are samples along the way.

“Class” is held every Saturday in the 4bbl Brewhouse and begins at 11 a.m. (Donations for the Brown County Historical Society kindly accepted and greatly appreciated as compensation for your tour.)

But, as the infomercials say, that’s not all. The Timberframe Brew House has a restaurant and bar, with at least six of their beer styles on tap. A smokehouse turns out all the pulled pork for the restaurant, and Big Woods Pizza is an all-ages eatery.
