The annual Miami Spice restaurant promotion offers discounted three-course lunch and dinner menus in restaurants throughout the Greater Miami, Florida, area August 1 through September 30, 2014.
If you’re nearby, the kick-off event July 31, 2014, might be worth a stop. Called Iron Fork, it’s a competition where two Miami chefs go pot-to-pot in a sizzling showdown for supremacy overseen by famed “Mango Gang” veteran Allen Susser. Each competitor will receive a basket of foodstuffs — plus one secret ingredient — then go to work before a panel of local celebrity chefs selected by Chef Allen. The winner will receive the prestigious Iron Fork Award, signifying the area’s top toque — and the audience will get to taste the results.
