Lemons and Limoncello
Citrus trees have thrived at Tudor Place for generations, summering in the Garden and wintering in the Conservatory, and lending their fragrance and flavors for medicinal as well as aesthetic uses.
If you’re anywhere near Washington DC, Road Trips Foodies, you might like to take part in this celebration of spring amid fragrance of blooming fruit trees long cultivated on the estate.
“Lemon Trees & Limoncello” are promised from 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow evening (May 8, 2014) at Tudor Place Historic House and Garden, 1644 31st Street NW, Washington, DC.
Tour the gardens, and then meet in the Dower House for light appetizers and samples of award-winning limoncello and other artisanal SweetShine liqueurs from Bloomery Plantation Distillery. Throughout the evening, this local Distillery will host complimentary tastings of their hand-crafted elixirs and share insights into their ‘garden-to-glass’ operation.
Needless to say, this is an over-21-only event. Tickets are $20.
