Fellsmere Frog Leg Festival
When your Road Trips Foodie was just a wee lass, her favorite restaurant menu choice was frog legs (probably because it actually grossed out her brother).
Turns out that others are enamored of that delicacy as well. Are you one of ’em? Consider altering your itinerary this month to make a stop at the Frog Leg Festival, taking place in the park at 22 South Orange Street, Fellsmere, Florida. It’s set for January 16 through 19, 2014.
The main feature of the fest (started in 1990) is of course, the frog leg and gator tail dinners. If that makes you queasy, there also are hamburgers, hotdogs, pizza, fried dough, turkey legs, sandwiches of all kinds, ice cream, candy apples, popcorn and more.
The frogs and alligators are served up from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
