Ohio’s Comfort Food Cruise
Ohio’s Hocking Hills region has long been known for having the kind of relaxed, unplugged getaways and kick-back cozy cabins that inspire photos, tweets and blogs. But the region’s food scene is also getting lots of “likes” and “favorites.”
Road Trips Foodies are invited to experience the area’s foodie treats during the first-ever Hocking Hills Comfort Food Cruise.
Spanning two weekends next year — January 24 and 25, 2014, and February 1 and 2, 2014 — each of 10 Hocking Hills restaurants will offer up a sampling of one the area’s favorite comfort foods. Travelers are invited to cruise the Hocking Hills area, stopping at each restaurant to enjoy a different comfort food, all of which were selected by Twitter and Facebook fans.
The winning comfort foods visitors can try along the way include: cinnamon rolls; biscuits and gravy; vegetable soup; grilled cheese, meatloaf; macaroni and cheese; pizza; chicken and dumplings; brownies and chocolate ice cream.
Comfort Food Cruise tickets are $15 and include one comfort food at each stop. $5 from each ticket supports local food banks. No restaurant reservations are needed but tickets are required in order to receive the featured complimentary comfort food and you need to roll on by between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
