Manhattan’s Beer, Bourbon and BBQ
In a city not known for its barbecue options, this comes as a welcome respite in the winter.
Yes, Road Trips Foodies, Manhattan’s Beer, Bourbon and BBQ — “the most fun North of the Mason-Dixon Line” — takes place January 25, 2014, in The Tunnel in Manhattan, 608 West 28th Street, New York, New York.
There will be three sessions at this fifth annual extravaganza.
The Bacon Bash Tasting Session is noon to 4 p.m. The Whole Hog Pig Pickin’ Session takes place from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., and the Grand Poobah Session is noon to 9:30 p.m. If you have a favorite, you’d probably better get a ticket sooner rather than later. Your admission buys you a sampling glass so you can enjoy an all you care to taste sampling of beer and bourbon.
Each session will feature a minimum of ten different food tasting stations including, but not limited to
o Pulled Pork BBQ – Pulled Directly From The hog
o BBQ Ribs
o Brisket
o Collard Greens
o Baked Beans
In addition, to these tastings, guests are invited to purchase more of their BBQ favorites – pulled pork, ribs, briskets and any fixings. (“We’ll keep the portions heavy and the prices low.”)
There’ll be seminars in the Tasting Theater with master distillers, brewmasters and pit masters from the Deep South, live bluegrass music on the main stage and a marketplace.
