food-worxThe second annual FoodWorx: The Future of Food conference is set for February 4, 2014, in the Gerding Theater at the Armory, Portland, Oregon. Ticket information is available online.

On the speakers’ roster are Dana Gunders of the Natural Resources Defense Council (San Francisco), Rob Holmes of GLP Films (Los Angeles), Lisa Schroeder of Mother’s Bistro (Portland), Tommy Habetz of Bunk Sandwiches (Portland) and restaurant magnate Kurt Huffman (Portland). The emcee will be Deirdre Campbell of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

Food is both an incredibly personal subject and a global concern. Many of us go to the store to buy our food and drink and that’s that. For many others, that’s not the case. As impassioned foodies and global citizens we know the term food is complex and deeply nuanced. FoodWorx seeks to initiate a conversation about a wide range of topics in food with an eye to what issues will look like in the next five to 10 years.

FoodWorx is a non-profit event produced by the World Food Travel Association.
