La Fête du Citron
The 81st Fête du Citron takes place February 15 through March 5, 2014, in the Alpes-Maritimes region of France.
The Lemon Festival is a carnival celebration centered on the golden citrus fruit. Highlights include a trio of daylight parades (plus two at night) featuring fruit-bedecked floats and gigantic decorations made of citrus fruit in the Bioves Garden of Menton, which is known as “La Cite des Citrons” (the City of Lemons).
This year’s parade theme is “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” — the results will be seen along the Promenade du Soleil in Menton beginning at 2:30 p.m. February 16, 23 and March 2, 2014, and at 8:30 p.m. February 20 and 27, 2014.
Bonus: There’s an Orchid Festival presented by the Association des Orchidophiles et Épiphytophiles de France in the Palais de l’Europe, also from February 15 through March 5, 2014.
