It’s time for the annual Clam Festival, set for July 19 through 21, 2013 — directions are online.
You might want to plan to be there on July 20 for the Maine State Clam Shucking Contest. It starts at 11 a.m., although if you want to sign up as a competitor, be there by 10 a.m. Prizes go to the fastest shuckers in professional and amateur heats.
All of the Clam Festival food booths are managed by Yarmouth-based non-profit organizations to fund their group activities throughout the year.
