The Bite of Oregon
“The Bite of Oregon” celebrates its 30th year in Governor Tom McCall Waterfront Park, Southwest Naito Parkway, Portland, Oregon (map), August 9 through 11, 2013.
This year’s edition launches a new culinary experience called Oregon’s Bountiful Table that will bring the “farm to table” concept to a new level. The Oregon Department of Agriculture Commissions will feature entrée or dessert items prepared by their chefs — and the offerings are scheduled to change daily. Bite attendees will have the opportunity to meet the rancher, farmer, or fisherman who grew, raised or caught the item they are enjoying.
Popular Bite features returning include the Iron Chef Oregon competitions, Oregon Craft Beer Gardens and one of the largest Oregon wine tastings.
This year’s theme is Celebrating Oregon’s Bounty. There’ll be an assortment of savory and sweet food offerings from 20 restaurants and four food carts, ranging in price from $2 to $9 per item.
Proceeds benefit Special Olympics Oregon.
