Chili Cook-Off in Georgia
Heading through Georgia this weekend, Road Trips Foodies? Swing by the first annual Chili Cook-Off and Family Cookout from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday (June 8, 2013) at the Terrapin Beer Company, 265 Newton Bridge Road, Athens, Georgia (map).
Meal tickets are $7 per person or $20 per family. You can buy a vote for your favorite chili for $5, and the chili that brings in the most money will be crowned the winner. (There’ll also be hamburgers, hot dogs and sides plus vegetarian items.)
If you’re over 21, you can do a free beer tasting and take a brewery tour.
Proceeds benefit the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Athens, a non-profit organization that works with a network of local congregations to provide emergency shelter and vital services for homeless families with children in Athens and Northeast Georgia.
