Salsa Fest in Oxnard
Spicy food, hot music and cool ocean breezes are on the menu for the 20th annual Salsa Festival in Oxnard, California. It’s set for July 27 and 28, 2013, in Plaza Park (map).
This is a two-day celebration of everything salsa – the food, the music and the dance. You can taste it, you can hear it, you can dance it, and, yes, Road Trips Foodies, you can even take some with you.
It’s actually a three-day event this year, if you consider a new addition: in celebration of the 20th anniversary, the fest is planning a Kick-off Concert on July 26, 2013.
Both admission and parking are free at Southern California’s “hottest” summer event (although it’ll cost ya to buy a table for the Friday night concert).
There will be salsa music of all flavors during the fest, plus a marketplace featuring gourmet salsas and sauces, two food courts and a salsa tasting tent.
A salsa competition awards prizes for: Best Red, Best Green, Best Fruit/Specialty, Best Mild, Best Medium, Best Hot and “Judge’s Choice”.
