Pay attention, junk food fanatics! A festival sure to tempt your taste buds is set for 7 a.m. ’til 5 p.m. June 15, 2013, in Bell Buckle, Tennessee.
You wouldn’t want to miss the RC Cola & Moon Pie Festival, would you?
These two Southern snack staples — said to be the South’s original fast food meal — were paired in the 1950s (a match made in food lore heaven to be sure).
There’s a 10-mile run, bluegrass music, cloggers, a watermelon seed-spitting contest and lots of games centered on RC and Moon Pies. The perfect day concludes with the perfect treat — everyone gets a piece when the World’s Largest Moon Pie is cut up and shared.
