Lobster Days in Mystic
Thinking of New England for Memorial Day Weekend, Road Trips Foodies?
One option is Lobster Days, set for May 25, 26 and 27, 2013 — from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day — at Mystic Seaport, 75 Greenmanville Avenue, Stonington, Connecticut (map).
Lobsters “in the rough” will be served by the Mystic Rotary Club. What does that mean? Lobster platters are served picnic-style under the open-air Boat Shed where diners can watch boats cruising on the Mystic River and enjoy music of the sea. All proceeds from Memorial Day Weekend support the Mystic Rotary Club’s community organizations and projects.
A special combination ticket of Museum admission and a single lobster dinner will be available. Lobster dinners can also be purchased separately and include coleslaw, corn on the cob, drawn butter, and choice of iced tea or lemonade. Hot dog platters and a cash bar will also be available.
It’s the season opener for the Mystic Seaport Boathouse. The 1908 steamboat Sabino and catboat Breck Marshall will also begin operating their regular schedule of brief cruises on the Mystic River.
Do note that museum admission is required to attend Lobster Days. Regular Museum admission does not include price of food: food and drink are purchased separately when on site.
