Strawberry Festival
The 48th Annual Christ Church Cathedral Women’s Strawberry Festival takes place June 13, 2013, on Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana (map). will take place on Thursday, June 13, 2013, from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. — or until supplies run out.
That means, Road Trips Foodies, that you’d better be sure your itinerary takes you to Indy before noon.
While the Cathedral Parish Hall opens at 8:30 a.m. for carryout orders, serving under tents on Monument Circle begins at 9 a.m. You can get “The Works” (shortcake, strawberries, ice cream and whipped topping) for $6, or order each separately for $2 each item. Note: sales are by cash only.
The popular event puts more than 300 volunteers to work serving an estimated six tons of strawberries and 18,000 homemade shortcakes.
More than 95 percent of the Strawberry Festival proceeds goes directly to local, national and international not-for-profit outreach groups.
