Here’s The Beef Cookoff
Already in Louisiana, Road Trips Foodie? Amble on by Opelousas for the 28th annual “Here’s the Beef Cookoff”.
A carnivore’s delight, the event starting at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow (March 3, 2013) in the Ag Arena on the Yambilee Fairgrounds, 1939 West Landry Street, Opelousas, Louisiana (map), is sponsored by the St. Landry Parish Cattleman’s Association, Cattlewomen and Louisiana Beef Industry Council.
Cookoff categories are Gourmet, Brisket, Roast, Stew or Rice & Gravy, Ground Meat, Miscellaneous, Junior & Senior Youth. Judging starts at 12:30 p.m.
There’ll also be live entertainment and an old-fashioned trail ride. Admission is $5 for those 15 and older.
