Wanna Be a “Chef for a Day”?
Here’s a unique way for Road Trips Foodies to experience firsthand what it’s like to run the kitchen in a country inn.
The Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls, 21190 State Route 374
Logan,Ohio (map), has launched “Chef for a Day”. Led by Executive Chef Anthony Schulz, it is offered most afternoons by advance reservation.
The experience takes place in the Inn’s kitchen and includes a private, one-on-one cooking class, food tastings, an Inn apron and a copy of one of the Inn’s cookbooks. Students will assist Schulz in preparing the evening dinner service and will receive specialized training on prearranged topics, such as prepping, making dressings and marinades, properly grilling meats or menu design. And, yeah, you get dinner, too.
Schulz added that guests will learn classic technique, yet in an approachable way that’s easy to understand. “Students are doing the prep and cooking themselves, and they can ask questions,” Schulz points out. “Then afterward, they’ll enjoy one of the best meals of their lives, while seeing our other guests enjoy the same meal that they prepared.”
Located in the Hocking Hills, the inn is a member of Select Registry Distinguished Inns of North America.
