BaconFest Florida
The inaugural BaconFest Florida will begin at 6 p.m. February 23, 2013, at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek, 5550 NW 40 Street, Coconut Creek, Florida (map). It’s sponsored by Hormel® Black Label® bacon.
Chef Todd Fischer from Discovery’s ‘United States of Bacon’ will host the bacon-lover’s paradise filled with free bacon-inspired fare from 20 South Florida restaurants. Fittingly, Kevin and Michael Bacon, known as The Bacon Brothers, will headline the outdoor festival and perform some of their greatest hits.
BaconFest will feature a chef throw down competition with celebrity judges for the best bacon recipes in three categories – Appetizers, Entrées and Desserts plus Player’s Choice.
Festival-goers will also enjoy a variety of bacon-related activities including carnival games, an interactive pig-themed photo booth, a ‘Hog’ bike show and food trucks. Tickets (starting at $25) include all the delicious indulgences you can eat, with drinks available for purchase.
